Where is the bios password reset pin?

Trying to reset/clear the bios password on an Acer Aspire S7-392. I only have found a S7-391 service manual online and the mainboard location of the G2201 clear password hardware gap is not in the same location on the 392 and apparently also not labeled the same.

On my acer (Aspire E1-472-6496) the mainboard model is EA40-HW it has a different hardware gap (G1501) and you have to take the whole mainboard out to reach it because there is no quick reach back cover for memory upgrade. Good thing is that these gaps are iconic and my mainboard had only 2 gaps like that next to the memory slot gap G1501 and G1901. When I shorted G1501 it worked. See a attached picture of the gaps located on the right side of the upper memory slot.

If you laptop is different, find a gap that looks like the one G2201 or G1501 near the memory slots and follow the following procedure:

To clear a lost BIOS password (user or supervisor password), you need to short the clear password hardware gap (G1501) located on the mainboard.

1. Shut down the computer and disconnect the AC adapter, battery and all other peripherals from the computer.

2. Perform the “Removing the Back Memory Cover” on your laptop.

3. If your laptop does not have a back cover you’ll need to disassemble the mainboard to locate the gaps.

4. Locate the G1501 or G2201 gap. Check the picture to see how the gaps look like. They are characteristic in shape. Beware to not mistaken the fake gaps in the lower right edge of the photo labelled G2702 and G2701 as these are different. Their shape is mirrored compared to G1501 or G2201.

5. Use an electrical conductivity tool to short the two contacts on the hardware gap together. I used a sharp pocket knife to bridge the gap.

6. While resting the tool on the two contacts, insert the AC adapter into the DC-In jack (being plugged in to an electrical outlet).

7. Press the button to turn on the computer. The laptop should restart by itself after posting as a result of the CMOS reset.

8. After the BIOS POST, remove the tool from the hardware gap.

9. Press F2 to check access to the BIOS. It took me a few times to bridge the gap correctly.

10. Once CMOS is reset, put the laptop back together.
