Is it better to sew or patch holes in merino wool?
Hey there - took a spill on my bike and ripped some holes in my merino wool pull over. It’s a wee bit thicker than a base layer. Better to patch or sew? I’ll take any advice!

@tdelhagen I’d be looking into darning your woolen sweater with something like a Woven Patch method. Get a darning needle and some yarn to get it down. Of course for a good guide the first place to look at would be right here How to Darn a Hole in a Knitted Garment
After that you can always do an online search since there are some decent videos about it.

Similar repair question , but for merino shirts. I have a few older ones that have small holes (perhaps from the washer/dryer or maybe moths?) that start small but eventually expand and relegate the item to an undergarment until I’m too embarrassed to even use it as that anymore.
With the lighter weight knit, what’s the best repair method?
