Not charging properly or powering on

I’ve had my 3ds xl for about 5 years or so and I haven’t played it in awhile since recently. It powered on after I charged it about a week ago for at least 10 minutes and shut off after that. I plug it into the charger and the orange light comes on and flickers for about a minute and shuts off. I have been unable to power it on and if I touch the power button while it is charging the orange charging lights flickers off. I ordered a new battery and replaced it within the week and I’m still having the same problems.
