forgot to unplug battery while disassembling phone - is it damaged?
Right–here’s the problem. I’m an idiot, first of all, and I suffer for my stupidity. Secondly, I mistook one of the prying bits as the battery part and pried that off instead of the battery. I figured out my huge mistake after I disassembled the screen and all that junk.
The problem here is this: is this phone dead? I’m arguably sure that this battery hasn’t seen a jolt of charge after it’s been water damaged (as it was when I bought it), and it hasn’t been recognized by my mac before. No battery indicator, nothing. I also haven’t got the smoke that everyone talks about (or a burning smell, anything) while disassembling it. Is it cooked? Is it alright? Am I a failure in life with forty bucks down the drain because I have two left eyes?
These are very important life questions. I’ll owe you a huge one if you can help me out of my predicament.
Bu iyi bir soru mu?
Its been done before, taking apart the display without unplugging the battery. I've done it a few times on accident when I was just learning but all my repairs were still successful, so I doubt that's why its not working.
You mentioned that the phone was water damaged. Did the phone show any signs of life before you took it apart? Usually water damage isn't the display or battery problem, but an issue with the board.

@takumaa99 It actually didn't at all! I took it to the repairs today and he said the water damage was extensive. I disagree with his assessment but I def agree that water damage is playing a major part.
Did those experiences include taking apart an iphone X and above? I remember hearing stuff like that for the 6.
Real $@$* tho, I'd do a lot to get this phone in working condition. Thanks for replying!
