iPhone 5S rebooting after lightning port replacement

Hey all,

I have an iPhone 5S to fix, the battery was always completely drain and the lightning connector was not working as it should, since it was hard to create the contact with generic cables, with the iPhone usb cable was better, but nevertheless was breaking the contact if wrong move was done.

So, initially I changed the battery, everything went okay, replacement, it turned on it charged was like 95% perfect.

Then I changed the connector and followed the iFixit video unfortunatelly, where they recommend to take the logic board/motherboard, so I did it, changed everything, just a washer stayed outside, don't know from here though and after assembling everything the phone turned on also without any problem and everything was/is working sound, wifi, mic, etc, although after few minutes it rebooted, even though it showed 100% battery, now everytime it reboots when on in shows 1% battery, if I start using an app, goes to normal level, currently that is around 80%, and then reboots, and all the time like that.

Even having the charge plugged in does not change anything, reboots nevertheless.

Can someone help me?

Take a good look with magnifier if you didn’t knock of a small component around the battery connector on logic board.

Just checked, everything seems okay. but don't have nothing to compare it. Do you have any picture to compare?

Take a good look on those small components (on your picture just under white sticker there is a row with small components) check if all is there and nothing is missing.

If nothing is missing then try another good battery.

Maybe check YouTube for videos about iPhone 5S battery precentage not increasing.to compare with your picture.

Don't know how it looks like, but it seems the one of the metal parts, the middle one, that connects the connector to the board is broken, not passing any voltage.

I compared from the picture on this issue (Replaced Battery, Constantly Reboots and unchanging battery percent) where the solution/answer has a picture of the connector, and there the middle seems to be connected, although mine is broken as observed on my pictures, don't know if could be this or not.

That will need microsoldering what is not easy. Or use conductive glue and put a small drop of the conductive glue on it, much easier than solder, I have did this before and works.

Hey Mark, thank you for you reply. I will not be buying another battery since this seems a problem with the board, I will put the phone on the side and if needed will buy a used one, since the money I spent already was the same as a used one
