iPhone 11 has TrueTone option but has "non genuine Apple display"

Hi there :)

I’ve replaced display and copied/ flashed (using iCopy Plus) data from original one so I got TrueTone working but…… iPhone still reports it is no Apple Display.

I know it is non Apple Display - but - I was hoping to see this as TrueTone data copied.

Is that “genuine Apple data” about display is somewhere else?

How can it be copied?

Thank You

Bart

Hi this could be a long shot but when I am buying screens I know there’s a table at the bottom to compare different screen qualities. The lowest grade screens have the True Tone field unchecked so even if you bought it and copied the data true tone still wouldn’t work. Like I said this could be a long shot but I believe that’s what happened.

I know what you mean about that - as I had this problem before with other iPhone 11 - I could toggle TrueTone on/off - BUT - display did not changed its "colour temperature"

But this fake replacement changes that "colour temperature" - oleophobic coating feels like genuine - FaceID works great etc.

So that is the reason it is weird for me - it has working TrueTone toogle and changing "colour temperature" but - it has that message it is non Apple - where I thought that "data" will be copied too (because "True Tone" been copied)

Ah I see, so the True Tone works but the message stays, correct? Probably apple messing with their software again to put people off unauthorised replacements. Just like the recent ipX update where replacing rear camera will disable faceID as reported by jessa from IpadRehab
