Replace the tv main board or t-con board?

So, someone gifted my neighbor’s kid a 46 inch tv toshiba 46L5200U but then kind of realized why the reason it was gifted… the screen turns on every time but then flickers vigorously then turns black, sound still works. Checked the a flashlight and was not able to find any shadows moving or any silhouettes, so just wanting to verify which part i should order. Most of what I read, so it’d be a main board issue… any way to verify this before ordering the part?

Hi,

There’s not much information out there on Toshibas but if the backlights aren’t working and there is no video either then more likely it is a mainboard problem. The tcon board only deals with the video signals between the mainboard and the screen.

1. go & find the new or used motherboard toshiba 46L5200U, replace the problemmatic one, later if there is good display , you should go to network setting, set your wifi and download the latest firmware

2. later after completed the download, you just follow the instruction.

3. then go to setting, go to the factory default reset, it will replace the the new firmware automaticaly

4. run you youtube apps, if itokay that means your tv system is okay
