@elwellgene while it is playing sound and has a black screen, in a darkened room shine a flashlight at an angle against the screen. See if you can make out shapes and silhouettes. If you do it is your backlight that has failed. Remove the back cover from your TV and check the powerboard. Check the voltage output to the LED’s and let us know what you got. Post some good pictures of your boards so we can see what you see and guide you some more. Adding images to an existing question
