I regularly clean my iphone X with cotton embedded in 96% ethyl alcohol, this time I used too much alcohol (the cotton was dripping) and the screen went black, but other than the screen the phone seems to be working (I can hear the beep when the phone is connected to the charger, etc)
I tried a hard reset, factory reset with itunes but the screen keeps black. Any suggestion? thanks

Yep that’s a screen replacement. You could maybe try cleaning the connectors for the screen with some alcohol, not too much this time, and see if the screen will work again. If the clean didn’t work then it’ll likely just be a screen replacement as the phone functions fine without the screen. Follow the iFixit guide and don’t use too much of any liquid near electronics!!

Thanks Liam, will try cleaning the screen connectors to discard any fix without replacements. In case that fails, will a screen replacement work or is it possible that the main circuit board of the iPhone was also damaged? And regarding the screen, what 3rd party screen is closest in quality to the original one? Is it justified to spend extra in OLED or will LCD suffice? Thanks
@perseid Yes there's a possibility that the logic board was damaged, so if possible it may be worth taking it to a reputable repair shop for a cheap diagnostic, just so you can be sure before buying any replacement parts. If it is as simple as a screen replacement (most likely in my opinion due to location of where you put the liquid in the phone), then LCD aftermarket screens are fine if you don't mind the quality. Some aftermarket screens will have slightly lower touch response but otherwise shouldn't be too noticeable. OLED screens do use less battery though so all things to keep in mind.
