Weird waves on the screen after removal/reassembly

I recently had an ipad pro 12.9 2018 model in for a bad/damaged power port. I removed the screen assembly using a screen separator machine(which is more or less a fancy heating pad) and went ahead and replaced the port. Upon reassembly however, I'm getting these ++weird waves++ on the screen. It is most apparent on white backgrounds.

I’ve never seen this before - any of you ever dealt with this?

From my guess, the LCD was damaged. If you use too much heat directly on the screen it can cause this. Only course of action is to replace the screen.

Fair. Man, what a bunch of nonsense! Well, thank you for confirming this. I've got a complaint in with the manufacturer of the heating pad.

@bacomps it may not have been the heating pad. If your temp was set too high it'll cause that.

What temp would you use for iPad screen removal? Does it make a difference if I have the screen face down on the heating pad?
