Battery Replacement does not line up
I am in the process of replacing the battery in my 2017 MacBook pro w/ touchbar and I can’t figure out how to get all the screw holes and connectors to line up. I just checked and I have the right battery for my computer. It is exactly like to one I took out, but things aren’t fitting correctly. What am I missing here? In the picture you can see where the plastic battery frame covers the place the trackpad needs to connect. And If I move things up the screw holes won’t align. I am baffled. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Who's battery do you have? I would say you have a defective one.

Thanks, Dan. I was able to finally fiddle with it to get the battery ribbon out of the way enough to get the touchpad connected. It is exactly the same layout as the original battery. I am assuming this was just a very tight fit, not the best layout. However, I am suspecting I may have damaged something in the process of my trying to figure out the fit. My computer is not powering up with the battery connected. But, it does power up when I disconnect the battery. Is this the most likely assumption (that it is the battery)? Could I have damaged something else? I just trying to figure out how to diagnose this. Get a new battery and try it again or ....
