Screen flickers on and off on samsung TV even after replacing main boa
Hello!
This concerns a Samsung un55ks800df 55in TV, not the one that ifixit let me choose. I also had a post that I marked solved because I thought we’d figured out the problem. You can find that here: Screen doesn't power on, flickers on and off, is it possible to repair
However I just changed out the mainboard with the other one I received and the problem still persists. Would that suggest the power board or the backlight perhaps? Is this still fixable maybe? I appreciate anyone who can help!
Bu iyi bir soru mu?
@johndough12 the backlights stayed on when you separated the main board from the power board? If they stayed on they are ruled out as a cause for this. Can you describe the "flickering" a bit better? Maybe post a quick video? Actually just realized its the same TV. Same backlight turning on then off?

@oldturkey03 hey thanks again for chiming in on this. I went ahead and made some youtube videos:
https://youtu.be/Ds01wBAxPxI
This one shows what happens when you unplug while it's doing the flashing thing. It appears now that not every time I turn it on does it cycle on and off repeatedly but after a couple or three tries it gets stuck in the loop
This is the second one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inFTqeli...
This demonstrates what happens when I plug it back in - it also makes a buzzing sound at the end of each cycle. I can try to further isolate exactly which component that is coming from if you need me to.
Let me know if you need anything else and thanks again!

@johndough12 okay so in video two what happens when you disconnect the main board? Does the backlight turn on and stay on? If it does not it's your backlight/power board. Measure the DC voltage on the backlight LED output on thew power board. The buzzing sound should come from the power board

@oldturkey03 So the first video shows what happens when I disconnect the the main board from the power board - the backlight stops flickering and stays lit.
Which one is the backlight LED output on the power board? Is it the cable on the right side of the power board going to the right side of the TV?

Connector CNL801 is the backlight connector. Interestingly enough so is that your backlight stays on which in general means that the power supply does what it is supposed to do, turns the backlight on. It is the main board that usually tells the power board when to turn it on. Since you separated those two the power board keeps the light lit. I'll double check the T-con board and the panel itself and see if there are some connections to possibly causing errors like this. Any chance you can post an image of the label about the make and model of the panel? Should be adhere on the metal chassis
