Mouse cursor frozen, keypad doesn't work

Cursor is frozen in top left of screen and picture of a mouse is displayed on the screen showing a green arrow to turn it on ( I just use the trackpad). I called Apple and they rank some tests which didn’t resolve the issue and said it was a hardware issue

It could be a fault at the connector or a faulty logic gate on the motherboard...

Would you recommend getting it repaired by an authorized apple dealer? The reason I ask is I'm worried the repair would cost more than what the laptop is worth (2012)

tarafından

@Herman Drost Yeah they charge more than what the macbook is worth

@Herman Drost - You can do this! It's not that hard.

It looks like you have a faulty trackpad connector,

try connecting a mouse and keyboard via usb
