Should I down clock my RAM?

Hi, I have used DDR3 at 1333MHz from a 2011 Macbook Pro. I'd like to upgrade a 2008 macbook unibody which bus is clocked at 1066MHz.

I've been told that there will be no problem doing it because the RAM will run automatically at the bus speed, it is true ?

Is there any way to "down clock" the ram frequency ?

If there is, what would be the best alternative ? clock it down or let it at 1333MHz ?

Thanks

It very well might run at 1066MHZ, but mine runs at 1067MHZ for some reason

If they used 1166 in the factory by mistake(doubt it), it could be running it at the max speed for me

Try it without underclocking first

It does work correctly until now

If you start getting kernel panics, look to the RAM first.
