Anyone have an alternate way to remove the screen from the screw holes

As many techs now know, the screens adhesive deteriorates over time and the 12 models are no exception. When trying to remove the screens that are perfectly working we want to remove it without damaging them. The adhesive that bonds the glass to the plastic frame on the screen itself comes loose trying to remove the screen making it 50/50 chance of damaging the display.

My question is has anyone figure out a way to pop the bottom of the screen off from the housing through the screw holes instead of using a suction? If so how do you do it and what tool do you use?

I never use suction and I’ve never had the issue you describe. We open the phone with a very thin metal pry tool after putting it on a heat mat for a few minutes. This is the tool.

Wow it’s been over a year I’ve been on here! Hi Jessa! Love your YouTube channel! I’ve learned to use a razor blade to remove the screen from the housing. Much better than suction! Thank you.

Would you be able to help answer a battery question for me? If I replace iPhone 11 battery without any programming or BMS swap, would the phone still think the new battery is the same (81%) percentage and still die quickly?

My experience is to pull with less force but firmly, do not keep increasing the pull force if it won’t budge, otherwise the plastic frame adhesive may fail before the rear case water resistance adhesive does.

With constant force, the rubbery adhesive will slowly but surely release while keeping the frame adhesive untouched.
