I’ve just replaced the battery on this iPhone 5 as previously it wouldn’t boot up at all. It now functions normally and charges from the wall and mains power supply. However I’ve connected it to my PC with several lightning cables and it’s not detected by Windows at all. The phone won’t charge from the PC and there’s no Trust Computer message. I read that it could be a faulty U2 Tristar chip, can anyone confirm?

It could be a tristar problem, but first you’d need to rule out a bad charge port. You can order one and then just connect it without fully installing to see if that is the case. If it does need a new tristar then that’s a microsoldering job.
