XP-300 Found a Spring under the spring head wiper

I found a spring sitting on the bottom of the printer under the print head wiper assembly where the print carrier goes on shut down. The spring must be connected to this assembly somehow. There is one connected on the right side near the back of this assembly that moves back and forth when the print head carrier moves back and forth…but I can’t see any attach points>? Anyone with an XP-300 tell me if there are 2 springs on there somewhere?
