What type connector is used for the fan to motherboard?

Need to remove and replace the connector for the CPU fan on the motherboard but need some serious help identifying the connector. Its a 4 pin, looks like a 1.2mm pin pitch, 3mm in height, approximately 10mm in width.

it helps when you share all the info starting with why you need to replace something. You may be shooting an elephant with a bb gun, or you may be shooting a rabbit with a howitzer.

Is the fan not working? Is the header pins bent or broken? Is the connector broken? What have you done so far to "fix" things?

@ruggb the connector is broken on the MB and needs to be replaced. I need help identifying the connector so I can order the correct one. I’ve done a ton of research and I have asked everywhere. I’m 85% sure it’s a JST SH 1.0 but when I measure pitch it looks more like a 1.2mm.

So its not the connector more the socket, that info could have saved me 15 mins of my life.

Deleted my previous answer.

85% sure is not sure and you are shooting in the dark, but soldering on a MB is practically impossible due to the multi layers sandwiched between your connector and a ton of other miniature components, and with the wrong amp soldering iron you cold blow a few diodes.

Is there no one alive on planet earth that can identify the exact connector used on the ASUS G73JH MB to connect the CPU fan to?

this has the dimensions for a JST-SH1.0 in case you don't have it.

There are 1.25 and 1.5 and they are cheap enough to order some of each if you can't nail it down.
