Why is the MacBook constantly shutting down 10sec after bootup.

Hi, so my macbook keeps shutting down. I press the startup button, the chime rings and sometimes it also boots up perfectly fine. But sometimes it just shuts down repeatedly and after 5-20 tries it boots normally. Also when you press certain buttons it shuts down instantly. The case gets really hot really fast in the area where the fan is. The fan works and moves but doesnt do its job correctly. Maybe the processor is broken? Or something else? i already replaced the battery, this didnt change anything except from being able to use the mac without the charger. Do you have any suggestions?

Update (06/27/2022)

Heres proof. I installed the program and checked.

It sounds like your motherboard is starting to fail, the cpu is the likely cause, which would explain it getting hot and failing to boot sometimes. Also you should clean the inside of your Macbook, dust build up can cause this heating issue too, and getting to hot will hurt the cpu, which will cause it to die sooner. If its clean then you can try downloading an app like TG Pro, it monitors the temp and the fan, and it allows you to take control of your fan, so when its hot you can run it at 4400rpm for a bit to cool down. Which is good because MacOS will rarely let the fan go that fast, but keeping the rpms low just slows down the cooling.

I changed the keyboard. Now its not shutting down anymore and works fine. Overheating still a problem. Downloaded this program and it has to boost down the cpu often but apart from that, works good. Finally got in recovery mode and reinstalled the OS. Is there any way to fix the cpu? Or only by cooling it down?

@faltschachtel - I would replace the heatsink as its likely the coolant has leaked out and/or the thermal paste is failing. Review this guide: MacBook Air 11" Mid 2011 Logic Board Replacement Don't over do the paste as that too can mess things up! For guidance take a thin piece of tissue paper cut to the size of the CPU chip, wet it and roll it into a ball even this is still too big of the needed volume of TIM.

This sounds like a dying battery! Given the age of your system you likely need a new battery.

To prove this install this gem of an app! CoconutBattery take a snapshot of the apps main window and post it here for us to see Adding images to an existing question. It may take a few attempts to get it to run long enough to capture the info hopefully you can transfer it to another system to post here.

Replacing the battery didnt change anything, as i said :) It shows normal temeratures and full capacity. I think not the battery is getting hot but the poocessor is. I dont understand why. I cant even reinstall the OS because the keys i need are causing a shutdown.
