So I have this Mac and it’s working kind of.

I have noticed that with the LCD connected it won’t boot at all. However with the screen disconnected and using a separate display it boots and works

is this an LCD flex issue or panel issues? Or could this be something else ?

Any advice is hugely helpful.

How about posting some nice clear tight images of the logic board connector at a few different angles as well as the cables connector so we can see if either is damaged. Adding images to an existing question

Well, it does look like the logic board connector got a bit of a tug as the detent tabs are bent as such the connector might not be making good contact with the cable. I would press the tabs back down with the cable in place so you don't go to far as the shell metal is very soft and can break off. I would also slide a spudger across the connector pressing the shell inwards a bit without the cable connected. Trying to add a bit more tension on to the cable. It doesn't take much to fix so don't go to far. Otherwise its time for a new connector.

Thank you dude. I have a new connector ready to go in.

How could a bad LVDS stop it booting?

@Marc Webb - I'm thinking there's a short somewhere, as you implied it boots up without the display present. It could be within the connector or in the display assembly its self.
