I have also a problem with one of my a1407 cinéma display .
Screen seems black but we can see the image if using a flash light . If LCD panel swapped with another one it works ok .
So screen is faulty obviously, but would a LCD controller card replacement do the job or I have to change the whole screen .
Cost wise is obviously not the same

s.nectoux since it works with another screen it shows you that the backlight on the display is not working. The backlight is part of the panel so you would have to open the panel to repair this. A new LCD controller card will not resolve this issue
