my pc keeps shutting down due to power outages will reinstalling windows fix it?

Info:my laptop doesnt have battery so i use my charger

rubengusion how does it shut down? Does it just turn off or does it go through some sort of shutdown procedure? When it shutdown, can you immediately restart it or do you have to wait some time? Have you checked the power supply to see if it has power when this happens?

@oldturkey03 so the story is that I have a laptop, the laptop has a leaking battery, so if you want to turn it on, you have to use a charger, now I mean this is where I am, the lights often go out and a week if I turn on the laptop and suddenly the lights go out about 4 times (in a week), it's clear that the performance will drop, is reinstalling Windows a good way?

@rubengusion the lights on your laptop or the lights overall? Anyhow, this does not sound like a typical window‘s issue. A blue screen etc. would be different. The just tirning iff dounds more like your computer. Check the AC adapter and check the RAM on your laptop. You might even consider replacing the battery as well

Leaking battery is probably not functioning correctly so when the power outage occurs why wouldn't the laptop turn off?? The battery won't keep it on

I would connect the charger to a UPS power supply so that when there is a power outage you will have enough time to shutdown the laptop correctly which will save all your personal data.

When the power comes back on the battery in the UPS will recharge ready for the next power outage.

Either that or get a replacement battery if possible.
