TCL 65" LED TV Backlight goes out after awhile

Working on my dads TCL 65" - 65S405. Got the usually no picture but have sound but can see picture with the flashlight test. Sometimes the picture will come on and I'll play a video but after 30min or so backlight goes off. I have a similiar tv the year before 65S403 with the same power supply numbers it swapped them and still same problem so power supply should be good. I got a LED tester and all 4 lines show like the same 116v on the tester. Could one of them be shortting out after TV is on a while. Or maybe a chip on the Mainboard cause it to shut down?

Kevin Palmer it can be either or, but my money is on the backlight array. TCL uses low quality strips so they do give out after a while. You can check your power board with some freeze spray. Once the picture is dark and you are still getting sound, shine a flashlight at an angle against the screen (darkened room) and see if you still can make out shapes etc. If so, spray some freeze spray on the power board. Hit a couple of the components and see if the picture returns when certain components get cooler. Since it is the backlight, I'd focus on components on the cold side of the power board. If it comes back you know it's the board. Just like anything, you are having some solid household voltage on the power board so try not to directly touch anything on the board.
