iPhone 5c's old owner tried removing screen with screwdriver

I bought a iPhone 5c to repair, and the screen is cracked and the bottom screws are both missing, and the old owner seemed to have tried to break the adhesive bonding the body and screen with a screw driver of some sort. the iphone makes a pop when its plugged up and you're pressing the power button,and there is deep gnashes all on the phone. the screen makes a cracking sound and is pushed outward on the bottom and the SIM tray is broken

is the phone savable by replacing the lcd and getting a new case and screws, and do i need to replace anything else?

As long as the logic board wasn't damaged, everything else is replaceable. On an older phone like that one, parts are getting very cheap; just keep in mind that to replace the case you'll need to gut the entire phone and move everything over to the new one. Some of that pain can be alleviated by buying a case "with small parts", meaning things like buttons and some of the flex cables will already be installed.

On the other hand, you could also consider buying one in good shape that's iCloud locked. The 5C's are great for that, since the only thing you have to move over is the logic board; no Touch ID or Face ID or paired assemblies to worry about. Keep in mind that the phone will identify itself as pink in the settings no matter what color case you put it in, lol. "I'm green but identify as pink."

i hope the logic board wasn't damaged,i would't be surprised as whoever did this REALLY need to get into the phone and stabbed literally everywhere around the screen (and the back a little bit) and my new iopener comes monday, so i have to wait to see... :(

also i think you jinxed it bc i can only find ic locked iphone 5c's.....

also if i bought a carrier locked one, and replaced the logic board with the one i have, would it still be carrier locked? ik its kinda a dumb question but i wanna make sure lol

@timtomissus A carrier locked phone will be fine too; that's tied to the motherboard just like the iCloud locks, so yeah, that's a good choice too.

well

the person must have gotten into the phone and continued their stabbing spree

theres like only 3 screws on the phone whoever "fixed" the phone took 90% of the screws ._.

one of the screws they didn't take is on the lcd and heavily corroded

all of guards for the logic board are missing
