I have a really close friend whom died by suicide and I'm trying to unlock the ipod for his family without losing anything on it. Does anyone know how I can go about this. Please any help will be appreciated

Only way I personally found, is a Bad USB that brute forces the passcode.
And I'll save you the hassel... Apple won't unlock it, No way Jose.
