After new battery install, new battery isn't charging?

Hello, I just installed a new battery into my laptop and while trying to do the new battery break-in my laptop isn't recognizing that it's plugged in so the battery isn't charging. I plugged it in and let it charge overnight, but after booting it up this morning the battery percentage is the same as it was out of the box. Anything that causes this? Thank you.

Have you tried replacing the charging port?

I have not, it was charging fine with the old battery. I replaced the old one because it wasn't holding a charge for long, but it would still charge. I also checked my drivers and everything is fine in that regard.
