my iPod nano 4th gen wont work it sat out in a barn for i don't know how long and it wont hold a charge when i plug it in it will say its charging but when i unplug it the screen goes black and wont turn on i held the menu and center button for 30 seconds but it wont turn on any advice?

dakotah, the first thing I would do is to replace the battery. A dead battery might say it charges, but will not hold a charge. Of course, also make sure that the dock connector is clean (no debris) free of corrosion and not bend or broken pins.
