The new console is call the Playstation 3 Super Slim and is identified by the model number, CECH-4000. The PlayStation 3 Super Slim (CECH400x) is the third version of the PS3 video game console produced by Sony Computer Entertainment. It was released October 25, 2012.

My power button isn't working but I replaced it?

So I got a ps3 super slim about a week ago and discovered that it doesn't want to power up with the power button but it will when I plug it in. I replaced the power button which didn't seem to correct the problem. I also tried to jump the power button that didn't work. I was able to adjust the settings to use CEC hdmi to power it on. Has anyone seen this before and found it to possibly mean a power supply issue or that there is a trace might be broken?

I’m not 100% sure about PlayStation but I changed the power button on my Xbox and it wouldn’t turn on after that so I started messing around with it and found out when you put the new one on you have to reset the power to insure you have a full connection and when I did that for mine I found out that I wasn’t getting connection to my disc ejection button so I had to redo that and it worked it may be different for you but just check to see if your getting power to all of your components
