M2 SSD adapter for 2013 MB Air

It doesn't look like iFixit sell an adapter for SSD M2 so I need a little help finding one please. The various options online are quite different from each other, and some look like they might not fit insite my tiny laptop. Anyone with personal experience of a particular option?

@deirdretobin Any reason not to look at the OWC SSD?

Mainly that I already have an SDD I would like to us.

@deirdretobin A Sintech adapter should do the trick providing the SSD you have is compatible with the unit. Samsung EVO's perform the best in my experience.

Take a look at Apple SSD connectors and adapters list & The Ultimate Guide to Apple’s Proprietary SSDs for some insight into the differences in comparability etc.

I highly recommend a Sintech M.2 NGFF SSD Adaptor and ideally a Samsung 970 EVO Plus M2 SSD with firmware rev. 2B2QEXM7 or 4B2QEXM7 as I have been using this setup for over a year and have had zero issues.

The MacBook Air you're using has a proprietary SSD interface from Apple, so you can't directly use a regular M.2 SSD from the market; you have to go through an adapter. For instance, the Sintech M.2 NGFF SSD to 26Pin Adapter has a good reputation within the Mac community.

Don't forget to back up all your data before installing the new SSD. Checking the website for information about SSDs can help you make a better choice.
