Why can't I press the screen?

@pekorasableng sounds like a failed touch screen. The touch screen is part of the display assembly. Time to replace the display assembly and while you do so, check the touchscreen connector on the motherboard for any damage, corrosion etc.

Since iFixit does not yet have a specific guide for this, use something like this guide It is written in Spanish, so you will need a browser that does translate it for you, if needed.

While you work on your phone, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit.
