Repair guide and troubleshooting information for Apple wireless mouse with multi-touch support. Model number A1657 or A3204.

connected and indicates its charging, HOWEVER, it's not charging?

I connect my Magic Mouse 2 either, into my Macbook or powerbrick, with the switch in the on position to initiate charging, my Mac indicates it is charging by displaying a battery with a lightning bolt. However, the battery percentage does not increase. My mouse is 2+/- years old and I bought it directly from my local Apple store. Everywhere on the interwebs tells me to "unplug it and replug it", "unpair the device", and " try turning it off and then on again" but these are CRAPPY suggestions and those people are idiots.

Is my battery farcooked? is it worth me replacing it? or should I just switch to a better non Apple wireless mouse???

Given the age of your Magic Mouse, I'd say it's a pretty good bet your battery is on its last legs and can no longer hold a charge, so yeah, I'd say it was very much worth your time to replace the battery.

The good news here is that iFixit has the guide you need to replacing your battery; outside of actually defeating the adhesive holding the battery in place, it looks like a fairly straight-forward operation.

The guide has a link to a source for the battery; it looks like a fairly decent price since many of the other ones that came up on a search were substantially more expensive, although similar prices can be had on eBay or AliExpress.
