How to fix a cable that's been cut in half?

So my Magsafe conector got sliced in half around 3 inches from the end that connects to the computer. I've watched videos of the head being fixed but is there any way to solder the cable halfway?

I don't see why not. Just make sure you insulate the wires from each other, you can use electrical tubing or electrical tape.

Sajs, nothing works where? what is not working? If you are looking to find an answer for something that is not working, you should give a bit more of a response. Like what it is that is broken, what it does, or does itnot do, what you have tried to fix it, etc.

Yes it can. I replaced the cabling on my charger by cutting the cord close to the damage (from my cats) and adding the new cord from there - rather than opening up the charger.

The cord has a shielded inner set of wires which is positive (?) with the negative (?) running around the outside. Separate the two, solder them up to the other end of the cable, insulate with electrical tape and you're done.
