forgot bios password? cant access bios settings

Issue: Windows 11 system with limited functionality due to Secure Boot and having forgotten Bios password

  • Can only restart/reinstall Windows 11
  • Cannot wipe drive, dual boot, or make major changes
  • Secure Boot is enabled
    and ask for the BIOS password for access
  • CMOS battery location not found
  • Service centers suggesting paid repairs or motherboard replacement
    any suggestion to remove /bypass the password

@miguelcardiga you can no longer reset your BIOS PW by disconnecting the CMOS battery, or jumper settings etc. The password is stored on an encrypted IC on the motherboard.

Your service center is correct that you will utilize paid repairs or even a motherboard replacement. You can of course always try and contact Huawei and see if they can help you.
