Ubiquiti's most popular all in one UniFi OS console including 4-port gigabit switch, AP and security gateway.

Unit wont power on. Any ideas how to trouble shoot it and or fix it?

Tldr: machine wont power up no fans or lights.

I was gifted a unify dream machine 4 port cylinder router with some other unify gear, unfortunately I wasn't the original purchaser so I don't have any idea of how old it is. The gifter said everything worked great when it was packed up but unfortunately upon receiving the hardware everything but the router works well. I have tried to plug the machine in with multiple power cords and tried to hold the reset down while plugging it in. When it is plugged in the fan will do a ¼ turn and then stop. It's almost as though it has a bad capacitor but I'm not really even sure how to open the unit with out any damage and don't want to destroy the beautiful machine. ⁹

Same happened to me just a day ago! In my case though the fan runs in full speed when I connect it to power. But that’s it. No booting up, no LEDs, tried every solution I could find online. No luck. I don’t have auto-update enabled. So can’t say that an update bricked it. Although I’m not certain if they can force some updates to be installed even if auto-update is disabled. It was running smooth without issues until it decided to just drop dead.

Wow, mine just died out of nowhere as well! Stopped functioning entirely, no fan noise, no lights, nothing.

I purchased the UDM from Ubiquiti on October 13, 2021, so out of 2-year warranty. I read that Ubiquiti will sometimes work with customers, but nope, just cold no:

I would have been happy with even a discount code.

So now I want to pop this thing open

@ericpardee TRY A different power supply

@littlegreenrock I’m working on a tear down. The power supply is not the issue, I opened it up and measured it on the PSU board at 120V, it’s the conversion to DC that’s not working.

That's what a power fault looks like.

It will require a technician to open it up and diagnose the problem. There is no simple fix for this.

This is likely a Power Supply Error. Since the unit involves internal AC high voltage, it would be better to have a professional technician handle the repair for safety and to ensure the power module is correctly diagnosed
