If your wash basin popup stopper is stuck, follow these steps to fix it:

1. Check for Debris or Blockage

Sometimes, hair, soap scum, or debris can cause the stopper to get stuck.

Try pulling it up gently while twisting it. If it moves slightly, it might just need cleaning.

2. Remove the Stopper Manually

Lift-and-Turn Stopper: Twist the stopper counterclockwise while pulling up. If it doesn’t come out, there may be a set screw underneath the cap. Use a screwdriver or Allen key to loosen it.

Push-and-Pull Stopper: Simply twist and pull up to remove it.

Pop-Up Stopper with a Pivot Rod:

1. Look under the sink and locate the horizontal pivot rod connected to the drainpipe.

2. Unscrew the pivot nut (hand-tight or with pliers).

3. Pull the rod out, and the stopper should come free.

3. Clean and Lubricate

Wash the stopper and remove any gunk.

Apply petroleum jelly or silicone grease to help it move smoothly.

4. Reinstall the Stopper

If you removed the pivot rod, insert it back into the hole on the stopper and tighten the pivot nut.

Test the stopper to ensure smooth movement.

If the stopper is still stuck and won’t budge, you may need to use penetrating oil.
