Sony VGN-CR220e laptop displays like the picture provided? It looks too nice to be a screen problem. The screen isn't cracked.
Is this an LCD issue or a graphics card issue that needs the whole board replaced?

To help isolate the problem, hook it up to an external monitor. This will tell you if you have a GPU (video processor) error or if the issue is further up the line.

I did, and external monitor worked fine.
looks like an LCD TAB fault....
Yep, it was def an LCD issue. Replaced the screen and all is well now.
