Dropped iPad. LCD Screen Doesn't Work

I dropped my iPad in the middle of the night and the LCD screen is black. No breaks in the screen or dented corners or sides. I can here the normal noises from activity in my iPad but nothing on the LCD screen. I've hit the power and home buttons multiple times, but no luck.

Haven't opened it up yet and calling a repair company local to me was a guess in how much it would cost. I'd like to try and repair it myself. What does it sound like the problem could be.

Take a flashlight sit it on the screen aimed at an angle, do you see the faint image of your desktop?

Or if you have a Lightning to HDMI adapter does the display show your desktop. Ideally both need to work.

If they do then the LCD backlight and/or power logic need repair. This could be costly!
