LCD not working when proximity sensor is plugged in

I have a friend that tried to fix their own iPhones screen after being shattered. They broke the white housing on the motherboard that protects the proximity sensor plug in. I'm not sure if it's related to that but when I put the phone back together it only works if cable #3 is not plugged in and when it is plugged in the LCD just stays black. Anyone have suggestions?
