Model
DC212B
Background
The Dewalt DC212B is a rotary hammer that operates on an 18V battery. Released in 2008, this tool is part of the Dewalt line of cordless power tools. The DC212B is designed to deliver the capabilities of a corded rotary hammer without the restrictions of a cord. It provides 1.7 foot-pounds of impact energy, which facilitates the drilling of holes up to 7/8" in diameter in dense materials such as concrete and stone.
The tool operates at 0-1100 RPM with a 0-4100 BPM impact rate, and it features a variable speed reversing switch for enhanced control. The hammer mechanism is designed to facilitate fast penetration with low vibration. It also includes an anti-vibration system called SHOCKS that uses an internal suspension mechanism to reduce vibration, enhancing user comfort. The DC212B has a compact L-shape design, which allows access to tight spaces, and it weighs 5.25 lbs and measures 10.5" from front to back. Other features include a 360-degree rotating side handle for adjustable control and leverage, and an adjustable depth rod for consistent depth drilling. The DC212B is sold without batteries or charger, but it is compatible with Dewalt 18V XRP batteries such as the DC9096 battery pack.
