Background:
The Drager Narkomed MRI is an anesthesia system with an integrated ventilator and VPO monitor specifically designed to operate without distance or electromagnetic restrictions in environments shielded or unshielded MRI environments up to 3.0 Tesla. This feature allows for minimal space between the patient and the machine. This gives the machine an advantage in scanning pediatric and neonatal patients. Even when in contact with the MRI, the Drager Narkomed MRI creates no image distortion. Primis Medical
The Drager Narkomed MRI anesthesia system uses magnetic resonance imaging and has proven reliable due to its AV2+ ventilator. It is small and has been tested in the presence of the strongest magnets. The Narkomed MRI includes an electronic ventilator, an integrated exhaled volume, airway pressure, and an oxygen monitor in one compact unit. Soma Technology
The second generation of this machine combines a new Drager GS-type display, with volume, pressure, and oxygen monitoring.
Identification:
To identify the Drager Narkomed MRI from the front, there is a VPO monitor to the top-left of the device. Adjacent to the VPO monitor is the ventilator which should have four knobs. Underneath the ventilator, from left to right, there are ventilator bellows, the main switch panel, and a flowmeter bank. Adjacent to the flowmeter bank is a vaporizer. There are pressure gauges underneath both the main switch panel and the flowmeter bank. Towards the bottom of the device there is a scavenger towards the left-back wheel and an absorber next to it. Underneath the device there is a power supply towards the left most wheels.
To distinguish between a Drager Narkomed MRI and a Drager Narkomed MRI 2 from the front, there are two vaporizers on the right side of Narkomed MRI 2. The Narkomed MRI only has one. The Narkomed MRI 2 also has a suction system in place of the scavenger that is on the Narkomed MRI. In addition, the Narkomed MRI 2 has a sliding tray table and a handle on top of the device. The names of each device are both under the pressure gauges.
