Background
First introduced at the February 2024 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the fifth generation of the T14 represents a major step forward in terms of repairability and sustainability for the ThinkPad line. As part of its commitment to simpler repairs and upgradeability, Lenovo consulted directly with the iFixit Solutions team to refine the design and make instructions and replacement parts more readily available for end users.
Identification
Like other ThinkPad products, the T14 Gen 5 is readily identifiable by the make and model number printed on the bottom cover, in order to aid in finding compatible parts and repair procedures.
Repairability
iFixit provisionally awarded an impressive 9/10 repairability score to the T14 Gen 5, based on its repairable design and Lenovo's commitment to making parts and instructions available for the April 2024 retail launch.
