Background
The Milwaukee 1680-20 is an extremely versatile and robust power tool. Belonging to the family of electric drills, whose history can be traced back to the late 19th century. Two Australian men by the name of Arthur James Arnot and William Blanch were the brains behind this highly useful tool which revolutionized the way people fixed and assembled household items and industrial mechanisms. This was shortly followed by the complimentary design of the handheld drill in 1895. Two brothers, Wilhem and Carl Fein of Germany are credited with this fine piece of art.
Focusing on Milwaukee brand tools specifically, both the company itself, and its' very first tool, were founded and manufactured at the end of World War 1 in 1924. It surfaced as a result of a challenge posed by the well known Henry Ford to A.H Peterson, to design a mobile and lightweight 1/4' power drill. The "Hole Shooter" was the answer to this unique challenge, and it became the very first light-weight hand-held drill in the industry of technical repair.
Even since then, thousands, if not millions of various tools and devices have been manufactured by Milwaukee, ranging from the most simplest to the most sophisticated. This one of a kind "Super Hawg" is just one from the thousands of Milwaukee highlights, which enhances the company's' ranking in the industry. It is specifically tailored for the quick and efficient drilling of holes of any size, into wooden frames. This makes it an excellent tool for DIY home improvement tasks and also major large-scale industrial projects. Its salient and outstanding features include the 2-speed built-in motor, easy turn gear shift knob, and a clutch in the low gear area. It comes with no amazement, as to the outstanding ratings and reviews written by thousands of users across the globe.
Identification
The Milwaukee electric drill 1680-20 comes equipped with a built-in 13 amp motor. It provides the option of being operated at a high speed of 1750 rpm or a lower one of 450 rpm. In addition to that, the 90 degree left-right "Roto-lok" handle, featuring 3 different positions, allows the user to gain a maximum comfortable operating experience. To increase it in versatility, it is built with a front t-bar handle on the gear case, coupled with a comfort grip switch handle. Its replaceable screws, and resharpenable bits, only adds to its' durability and longevity. Perhaps the most distinguishing feature of the "Super Hawg" is its' nylon resin casing. This makes it an excellent energy/heat conserving tool, through increased amounts of heat dissipation, and resistance to chemicals, which would not have been otherwise achievable, with a metal casing.
