However, the most reliable and longest-lasting wires are usually OEM wires from the car's manufacturer. Factory spark plug wires can go hundreds of thousands of miles before requiring replacement.

To avoid any confusion between which wire goes to which spark plug, replace spark plug wires one at a time. You may want to mark either the old or new wires to remind yourself which ones you've changed.
Disconnect the spark plug wire from the distributor cap by pulling it straight up.

Gently twist the spark plug boot back and forth and pull up to remove it from the spark plug.
When installing your new spark plug wires, it's a good idea to apply dielectric grease to the spark plug boots to prevent the electrical connections from being damaged by water or debris.
