2 slice Dualit toaster Disassembly

  1. 2 slice Dualit toaster Disassembly, Removing rubber feet: adım 1, 1 resimden 1.
    • 4 x rubber feet

    • 5 x metal screws

    • Remove the rubber feet and screws with a phillips head screw driver.

Note that one foot is different and provides adjustment for non-level surfaces. It is shown as fitted in the corner opposite the timer switch on Duality diagrams, but could function in any corner. Dualit have also changed location of the 2 screws which hold the plate on in addition to the feet. These used to be fitted at the end of the toaster, but newer diagrams show the fee in the furthest four corners and the extra two screws slightly inboard in the spare holes. Slightly more stable, but not much in it.

At least on my Dualit (model A2BR/87), the screws for both the feet and the bottom plate are Pozidriv #2. Although you can probably get by with a Phillips #2 screwdriver, a Pozidriv would be more secure and less likely to jump out of the screw head.

  2. 2 slice Dualit toaster Disassembly, Removing bottom plate: adım 2, 1 resimden 1.
    • 1 x Matte Aluminium Bottom Plate

    • After removing the Feet and Screws the Bottom plate simply lifts off.

  3. 2 slice Dualit toaster Disassembly, Removing crumb tray: adım 3, 1 resimden 1.
    • simply slide out the aluminium crumb tray

  4. 2 slice Dualit toaster Disassembly, Removing main polished casing: adım 4, 1 resimden 1.
    • 1 x Stainless Steel main casing

    • 6 x Phillips Head Metal Screws

    • Remove screws from main body of toaster and ply the metal casing off with your hands from either side.

  5. 2 slice Dualit toaster Disassembly, Removing end cap: adım 5, 1 resimden 1.
    • 1 x Casted Aluminium End Cap from the left hand side of the toaster

    • After removing the screws from part 4 this end cap will just pull off with a gentle tug.

  6. 2 slice Dualit toaster Disassembly: adım 6, 1 resimden 1.
    • 1 x Cast Aluminium timer casing

    • To remove the other side casing of the toaster you must first disconnect the electrical cords from the elements

    • Once all the cords are unplugged the casing will simply pull off the same way as the other side casing was removed

How can I remove the power cord grommet from the casing, to replace the power cord? Thanks

  7. 2 slice Dualit toaster Disassembly: adım 7, 1 resimden 1.
    • 2 x Nut

    • 2 x Bolt

    • 2 x Washers

    • 1 x Galvanised Steel elements fastener plate

    • To remove the element fastener plate us the pliers to prevent the nut from twisting whilst unscrewing the bolt with the PH screwdriver.

    • Once unscrewed the plate should easily pull away.

  8. 2 slice Dualit toaster Disassembly: adım 8, 1 resimden 1.
    • 1 x Lever mechanism

    • 1 x Spring

    • 1 x Washer

    • 1 x Plastic lever handle

    • 2 x Aluminium fastening plates

    • To remove the Lever mechanism you must first unscrew and remove the black plastic handle.

    • After this the two fastening plate will can be removed. The screws holding these in place have already been removed in the previous step.

    • The lever mechanism can now be removed from the toaster. This may take some manoeuvring for the mechanism to slide out.

Don’t get this. The screws holding those “fastening plates” are not removed in the previous step. And they are inaccessible due to the shape of a plate above them. That plate is pop-riveted in place. So far been unable to progress past this point (4 slice classic toaster).

I'm in the same boat as Stuart here. My best guess is to unscrew the nut from the other side using a hex wrench, but it feels like there must be a better way.

  9. 2 slice Dualit toaster Disassembly: adım 9, 1 resimden 1.
    • 3 x heating elements

    • 2 x Brass dividers

    • 2 x Copper wires

    • 2 x Bolts

    • 6 x Washers

    • 4 x Nuts

    • To remove the heating elements unscrew the bolts with the PH screwdriver whilst holding the nuts with the pliers

    • Once unscrewed the wires and copper dividers are able to be removed. Then simple slide out the heating elements. The elements need to be replaced in the same slots they came from so label them.

The nuts are 6.5mm and if you have one, a 6.5mm bicycle spoke wrench (or similar) would likely be a little easier to work with than would pliers

  10. 2 slice Dualit toaster Disassembly: adım 10, 1 resimden 1.
    • 2x aluminium internal side panels.

    • These thin aluminium plates will then be removed from the main body assembly. These sheets help reduce heat admitted from the toaster upon use.

  11. 2 slice Dualit toaster Disassembly: adım 11, 1 resimden 1.
    • 3x bent stainless steel excursions.

    • These parts are holding the bread in a perfect position in relation to the elements. They are then to be popped out of place from the main body assembly.

Why did you decide to use the word “excursion?” Was it a typo?

    • This is the final sub assemble or main body you are left with. This body is the queen bee of all the above parts.

What size are the screws used to secure the outer casing?

Roger Houghton - Yanıt

On my model A2BR/87 they’re #2 Pozidriv screws.

You can tell the difference between Phillips and Pozidriv screws because the latter have very small lines etched between the four arms of the cross on the screw head. Phillips screws (and screwdriver) should work, but if you use them too many times on a Pozidriv screw then they'll eventually wreck them. On the other hand, you can't use a Pozidriv screwdriver at all on a Phillips screw so check to see which kind of screw you have.

FWIW, I had to get Pozidriv screwdrivers to work on my Saeco espresso machine.

If you just need to replace the Dualit 2 slice toaster, Lifter Assembly what is involved in doing that. Surely you don't have to remove all the sides etc. What would you recommend to replace this one element?

Is the Cast Aluminum Timer Casing one part that is available? My toaster is an American Dualit. The timer mechanism doesn't work. I would like to replace just this part. Can you help me remove it?

I have a 2 slices 2021 Dualit Domus DLT22 toaster that is dead and probably needs a new timer. Dualit say they no longer supply spare parts for that model. Do you know where I can source a compatible replacement part?
