If your VivoBook shuts down randomly, and the bottom feels hot, you may need to replace the fan to optimize your performance.

  1. With the screen closed, place your laptop upside-down with the front facing you.
    • With the screen closed, place your laptop upside-down with the front facing you.

    • Remove the five black 80mm Phillips #0 screws.

    • Remove the four black 50mm Phillips #0 screws.

  2. Use a  metal spudger to pry the bottom panel open.

    • Be gentle around the edges.

    • Lift the back panel to expose the inside of the laptop.

  4. Use a Phillips #0  screwdriver to remove the five 4mm  screws.
    • Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the five 4mm screws.

    • Peel the wire protective tape off.

  5. Use the precision tweezers to  disconnect the wires.
    • Use the precision tweezers to disconnect the wires.

    • Lift the fan up and out.
