This guide will take you through the process of replacing the power cord on the Black and Decker BV2500 Type 4. Without a power cord that works, the device will not turn on.

  2. Using your hands, remove the blower tube and clamshell.
    • Using your hands, remove the blower tube and clamshell.

      • To remove the clamshell, pull apart starting from the bottom until it is pulled out from the notches. Then slide it out away from the device.

    • Locate the switch.

    • Remove the 2 black and white wires with blue casings from the switch.

      • Using your hands, push in the sides of the switch and slide out the wires.

    • Unscrew the two 20 mm Phillips #2 screws that are holding in the power cord (located at the bottom of the leaf hog) with a Phillips #2 screwdriver.

    • Slide the power cord support off the power cord in the direction of the leads.

    • Use your hands to pull the power cord out of the device with the lead end coming out last.
