This is a replacement guide for the bread grabber springs on the Black and Decker TR1278B.

  1. Unplug the toaster before disassembly.

    • Unscrew all four 4mm screws on the bottom using a Phillip's head #2 (PH2) screwdriver.

  5. Turn the toaster right side up.

    • Lift the front cover.

  8. Press down on the toaster lever to gain access to the grabber spring located behind the large metal plate.

    • Use metal spudger to loosen clamps on spring.

  9. Use needle nose tweezers to pull the spring off of its hook.

  10. Remove the old spring from the toaster unit to insert the new one.
