If your CASIO fx-300 MS scientific calculator is not functioning, it may be time to replace the battery.

Press SHIFT+AC to turn off the calculator.
Press the shift button, and a symbol in the top-left corner should appear. Afterward, push the AC button.

Flip the calculator so the back of the device is facing up.
Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the six 5 mm screws.

Use a spudger to pry the back case from the calculator.
Gently work your way around the edge of the calculator to release any clips before separating the two halves.
If you feel resistance when removing the back case, check to make sure you didn't miss a screw.
