This guide will show you how to replace the touch control board on your Dell XPS 18. Replacement for this part is required if you cannot seem to get the touchscreen to work.

Turn the device on its screen.

Remove the ten 4mm screws using a T8 Torx screwdriver.

Use the opening tool's angled edge to lift the clasps securing the screen and motherboard cables.
It’s not necessary to remove the cables. Unclip the white touch cable from the touch board as shown in step 8, then remove the two screws holding the board to the frame, as shown in step 9. The board can then be moved out of the way to lay flat on your work surface without having to disconnect all the cables. Doing this eliminates this step and step 5. The order of operations then would be steps 1-3, 8, 9, 6, 7, and 10.

Disconnect the black camera cable and pull it back to prevent future hassle.
