Fused LED Light Replacement

Giriş

The LED light bulb consists of many small LEDs connected in series. Whenever a single LED gets fused, the circuit is broken and the Light bulb stops functioning, even though most of the LEDs are still in working condition.

Use this guide to repair a fused bulb by easily replacing a fused LED with a new LED and completing the closed circuit through which the current flows again and lights the bulb.

    • Remove the upper semi-sphere diffuser by twisting or applying some heat with a heat gun or dryer to soften the adhesive.

    • Use a battery or a cell with connecting wires and apply them to the exposed solder ends on each LED.

    • The LED which doesn't lights up is detected as the faulty LED.

    Another easy check is keep multimeter in continuity mode and touch terminals of each LED. LEDs will glow slightly. If not glowing the good LED, you may need probe reverse.

    • Using a knife or screwdriver, remove the faulty LED.

    • We need to replace it with a similar LED or a resistor.

    • Connecting the terminals directly can result in an increased current and multiple LED failure.

    • Using the soldering iron solder an LED or a 100Ω (2W or 5W) resistor into the faulty LED space.

    I got the same board with one fused LED. We should use 100Ω (2W or 5W); not 10K. Calculation: After shorting bad led, 71V/96mA >> 8.9v/96mA per LED

    If 9 LEDs, 7.9V/85mA ~ 100Ω/0.7W

    • Connect the bulb to a power source to detect if it's working.

    Merci pour ce tuto. Je me demandais si il fallait utiliser une pile avec une tension minimale et/ou maximale pour tester chaque led, et s'il faut respecter une polarité

I have a large LED bulb with 8 banks of LEDs. The bulb would flicker at times then stay illuminated for a period. After a short time doing this it would completely stop then come back on. It finally stopped working at all. I engineered myself a couple leads from some old multimeter leads I had collecting dusk. I attached those to a fresh 9v battery then checked each bank of LED. All illuminate as quickly as I touch the leads to the first LED in each bank. What’s the issues with this bulb? It’s not due to a bad LED and breaking the continuity. I also prior to testing with the battery went through each bank getting a solid tone so there’s no loss of power from ATo Z. I’m open to suggestions based on your experience tackling this issue. It’s my first rodeo with the LED bulb. Thanks for your help.
